Zithromax
Zithromax (azithromycin) can be prescribed by your health care provider if you are suffering from some infection that requires this kind of treatment. Zithromax can be used to treat STD, pneumonia, bronchitis and a number of other conditions. Irregular heartbeat, kidney or liver disease, human immunodeficiency virus, and cystic fibrosis are the medial conditions that need to be reported to your doctor in advance as they can affect the dose you are prescribed. Any drugs you are taking at the moment are supposed to be reported to your doctor as soon as possible, including but not limited to: carbamazepine, another antibiotics, triazolam, HIV medicines, warfarin, cholesterol-lowering medicines, calcium channel blockers, theophylline, phenytoin, pimozide, ergot medicines, and digoxin. Any other medications you are using at the moment are also supposed to be reported, even if they are over-the-counter kinds. When taking this drug you can experience mild and serious side effects that can vary in intensity. Mild side effects may include any of the following symptoms: headache, nervous feeling, insomnia, ringing in your ears, decreased sense of taste, stomach pain, vomiting, mild itching, dizziness, mild nausea, skin rash, constipation, diarrhea, and stomach upset. More serious side effects are also possible but occur very rarely. The following serious side effects have been reported by people using Zithromax: uneven heartbeats, low fever, stomach pain, chest pain, dark urine, headache with a severe blistering, clay-colored stools, watery or bloody diarrhea, red skin rash, and loss of appetite. You will be recommended to take Zithromax from 1 to 5 days regularly without missing doses or skipping them. It’s best to use Zithromax on an empty stomach to provide for better absorption of the medicine. If you happened to miss a dose – take it as soon as possible. However, if it’s almost time to take another dose, you can skip the one you missed and go back to the regular dosing schedule. Zithromax is FDA pregnancy category B. It is not expected to harm to an unborn baby but you are not supposed to take it without previously talking to your health care provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The following symptoms may indicate an overdose: nausea, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, and vomiting. If you have taken too much of Zithromax and get the symptoms mentioned, seek emergency medical assistance.
